Skabi-Rid

Why am I still itching after scabies treatment?

Itching can carry on for a few weeks after treatment while the skin settles, even when the mites are gone. If the itch is not improving after a few weeks, or new burrows or spots appear, see your doctor or pharmacist.

The itch is the skin reacting to what the mites left behind, and that reaction takes time to calm down. New burrows, new spots, or an itch that is getting worse are signs to get checked again. Scratched skin can also become infected and may need treatment of its own.
