Skabi-Rid

How do I get rid of scabies?

Apply a scabicide such as permethrin 5% lotion over your whole body from the ears to the soles of your feet, leave it on overnight for 8 to 12 hours, wash it off in the morning, and treat everyone you live with on the same night.

  1. Work out who needs treatment: you and everyone in close contact with you.
  2. Shake the bottle and apply Skabi-Rid from the ears all the way down to the soles of the feet. Do not apply it directly to the face.
  3. Leave it on overnight and wash it off the next morning, after eight to twelve hours.
  4. Put on clean clothes and wash bedding, towels and clothes on a hot cycle.
  5. The package insert says to repeat the treatment after two weeks if necessary.

If you are unsure whether it is scabies, or if symptoms do not improve, see a doctor or pharmacist. Our interactive application guide walks you through it step by step.
